SURGEON ALAN B. LEAHEY, MD

Alan Leahey, MD (certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology) did his residency training in Ophthalmology at The Scheie Eye Institute, at The University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine after attending Georgetown University Medical School and doing an internship at Abington Memorial Hospital. His fellowship in Cornea was at the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore.

Dr. Leahey has been practicing ophthalmology in Allentown, Pennsylvania since 1992. He is former Associate Chief of Ophthalmology at Lehigh Valley Hospital and a former clinical associate in ophthalmology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He has published numerous articles in various ophthalmology journals and performed the first PRK and the first conventional LASIK and the first Custom Vue LASIK (wave front technology) that were done in the Lehigh Valley . Dr. Leahey is certified on the Visx excimer laser platform and uses the Hansatome microkeratome

Dr. Leahey also introduced Conductive Keratoplasty (CK) to the Lehigh Valley , performing the first CK in the Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton area. Besides refractive surgery, Dr. Leahey specializes in cataract and intraocular lens surgery, along with cornea and conjunctival surgery. He is on staff at Valley Eye Surgical Center, Fairgrounds Surgical Center, Sacred Heart Hospital, St. Luke’s Hospital and Easton Hospital.

SURGEON MARNIE O’BRIEN, DO

Marnie  O’Brien,  DO (certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology ) did her residency training  in Opthalmology  at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia after attending Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and doing an internship at Delaware Valley Hospital.

Dr. O’Brien, who was born and raised in the Lehigh Valley, has been practicing ophthalmology in the area since 1998. Dr O`Brien received her certification to perform Lasik PRK surgery in 1999. Dr. O`Brien is highly skilled in the use of STAAR implantable contact lens as well refractive clear lens exchange procedure. Dr. O `Brien is certified on the Visx excimer laser platform and uses the Hansatome microkeratome. In addition to refractive surgery, Dr. O`Brien is a talented cataract surgeon utilizing state of the art multifocal lenses. She is on staff at Valley Eye Surgical Center, Fairgrounds Surgical Center, Sacred Heart Hospital, St. Luke`s Hospital and Easton Hospital.
